Giving all kids a meaningful camp experience

Something about nature allows us to shed labels, stereotypes, and things others may view as disabilities. That’s why we started Camp CANOE, the first of its kind, inviting kids with autism and Down Syndrome to develop their social, motor, and sensory skills through a variety of outdoor activities.

Camp CANOE (Children with Autism Need Outdoor Experiences) offers children with special needs a truly unique, hands-on camp experience. Every activity is a teachable moment where children can learn independence, leadership, and self-confidence in a safe, outdoor environment.

Due to the one-on-one camper experience that Camp CANOE strives to offer, camp size is very limited and wait lists are expected. Registration will open January 2024, and slots will be granted on a first-come-first-served basis. Reserve your spot today!

SCHEDULE & pRICING

Camp CANOE is one 5-day session from May 27 - May 31, 2024. Camp begins at 9am each morning and campers are released at 3:30pm. Camp will be held on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024.

This pricing of this session is $370.00.

Financial aid is available - please answer the questions and follow the directions in the application starting on page 4.

CANoe family day

In the spring we will be hosting a Camp CANOE family day on our camp property. We have chosen to do this to also give first time CANOE campers an opportunity to explore camp with their support system prior to their session.

We are inviting all families who have a camper enrolled in Camp CANOE to come out to camp and have a one-on-one tour with a member of our camp staff. This will allow our team to get to know each campers needs and interests to make intentional and successful pairings with counselors. With this program being a one-to-one ratio of camper to counselor, we want to take the time to make pairings that will allow campers to have the best time during their session.

We will also have limited spots available for families who are not registered for the 2024 CANOE session. Whether you are on the waitlist or are on the fence on if this is a good fit, we want to give families the opportunity to explore what our program has to offer!
